Vote Canada The promises, so far:

In the article it talks about promises from Conservatives, Liberal and New Democratic to the people. A few of the promises are:
The Conservatives:
  • Families with children under 18 to split up $50000 in income to pay less tax but only one the federal books are balanced, likely in 2015.
  • Having financial support like loan guarantees for the Lower Churchill hydro mega-project in Labrador.
The Liberals:
  • Allowing $1000 for student-aid grants to post-secondary for 4 years, $1500 a year for students from lower-income families.
  • Expanding Canada’s pension plan benefits to allow people to save an additional 5-10% if their income.
  • A $1 billion family care plan to have individuals take time off from work to care for ill or aging relatives and help on the cost of care giving
The New Democratic:
  • Cutting small-business taxes to 9% from 11%, that set up a tax credit of up to $4500 for each new hire & extending the capital cost allowance for 4 more years
  • $2 billion of oilsands is removed and put to use towards clean energy
  • Recruiting and training 1200 doctors & 6000 nurses over the next 10 years by investing $165 million.
